Kegged wine on tap at Postino in Phoenix

If Brent Karlicek is right, pretty soon everyone will be drinking wine the same way they do many beers – from a keg.

The wine merchant at Phoenix’s two Postino Winecafes is at the fore of a national trend that’s making wine bars and restaurants across the country more affordable, more environmentally friendly and less tradition-obsessed.

He recently started serving one of his favorite wines from a refrigerated metal cask with a tap, just like beer, at the Postino location in central Phoenix, and he’s the first person in the Valley to serve wine this way. The Arcadia location’s keg program is still in development.

But across the country, wine-by-the-glass programs are being revamped with kegs at buzz-worthy destinations in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. [READ MORE]
